The Jayakarta Theater
Brand Identity, Personal Project
2025
The Jayakarta Theater is a contemporary stage dedicated to reviving and reinterpreting the cultural narratives of the Nusantara. The name “Jayakarta,” meaning a victory achieved through effort and action, symbolizes triumph born from perseverance and purpose. Its identity draws inspiration from the National Monument (Monas), a symbol of unity and resilience, with it's seventeen golden flames representing August 17th, a reminder that independence is a continuous act of creation. For The Jayakarta Theater, performance is more than spectacle; it is a dialogue between tradition and modernity, between the echoes of the past and the aspirations of the present. Through plays, film adaptations, and cultural showcases, the theatre seeks to honor Indonesia’s heritage while nurturing a new generation of Nusantara storytellers.
